Digital impressions with CEREC®
In addition to being much more comfortable for the patient, using the scanner allows us to be more efficient and accurate, which can result in a reduced number of visits to the office, saving the patient time.
Same-day crowns – CAD/CAM CEREC® dentistry
CAD/CAM stands for Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Milling (CAM). 3D images can be uploaded into special CAD software, allowing the dentist to evaluate the exact details of the appearance and function of the restoration. This software can also help the patient to visualize the end result of the proposed restoration.
Once the design is finalized, the files are sent to the CAM system for fabrication of the restoration to the exact specifications of the design. Use of CAD/CAM technology increases efficiency and accuracy, and can often reduce the overall number of patient visits needed.
CariVu™ early cavity detection
DEXIS CariVu™ provides an excellent method for detecting the presence of caries disease without requiring x-rays. It can sometimes provide information that might be hard to identify or ambiguous on an x-ray.
Digital X-rays reduce the amount of radiation needed as compared to film X-rays. The improved diagnostic capability of digital X-rays and the ability to view them on a computer screen allow the patient to better understand and follow treatment. Digital X-rays are instant, there is no longer a need to develop the film. Digital X-rays save time and increase the level of patient care. It’s also a very green technology. By eliminating film and chemical waste it’s better for both you and the environment!
The use of lasers in dentistry is one of the most recent advancements. The use of a laser allows for procedures that are less painful and reduces both bleeding and tissue loss. It allows some procedures to be performed without anesthesia or the use of a drill. Our practice uses a cutting-edge Fontana dental laser, allowing us to provide technologically advanced care.
Digital intra-oral cameras
An intra-oral camera combines video technologies with dental care. Both the patient and dentist can see detailed images of the teeth and mouth in real time. With an intra-oral camera, you are able to better understand what is happening in your mouth and review the status of your oral health.
iTero scanner is a digital intraoral scanner that produces quick colorized images to improve dental treatment. The iTero scanner digitally captures the structure of the teeth and gums using the latest optical technology. The scanner is a compact, hand-held wand.
Oral cancer screening
Oral cancer affects thousands of Americans yearly. We use the latest technology to detect changes in oral tissue consistencies and/or lesions. A specialized light is shined into the mouth to detect unhealthy tissue. Healthy tissue looks lighter under the light while spots of bad tissue appear dark. With early detection, cancer may be caught before it has time to spread, potentially saving lives.
Quiet electric handpieces
The handpieces we use provide less vibration and noise than traditional dental drills. Not only are they quieter, but also more efficient in tooth preparation making dental procedures shorter and more manageable.
Piezo electric handpieces
Digital flat-screen monitors
Our office offers free Wi-Fi for patients to use while visiting our office.
